THE JULIO ROMERO DE TORRES MUSEUM
This famous museum was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1962. It is located in the former Hospital de la Caridad building, which also houses de Cordoba Museum of Fine Arts.
After the death of Julio Romero de Torres on 10 May 1930, his widow, Francisca Pellicer, together with their children Rafael, Amalia and María, decided to donate most of his works to create a museum dedicated to the memory of the Cordoban artist and to bequeath them to the city of Cordoba. One of their conditions was that access should be free, which it still is today as long as you are an EU citizen.
This center is dedicated to his work and takes the visitor on a journey through his life, from his beginnings to his most splendid and famous works: La Chiquita Piconera, Naranjas y Limones, Cante Hondo, Poema a Córdoba, etc.
